William is the Master of Laws in the Small Council and the lord of Horn Hill. He is a Marcher Lord who has consistently repelled Dornish raiders from breaching across the Seven Kingdoms. He is generally a fair person, if strict. He holds a high regard for those with personal responsibility.[break][break]

















William is a soldier, so he likes people who have a certain code of discipline, code, or diligence in their craft. To him, their ability to maintain that control over themselves is a better indicator than their behavioral traits. He has few friends, and trusts almost no one, but he respects many people and has amiable relationships with many under his command and across the seven kingdoms.[break][break]



Most likely, a friend is someone who worked with him in the Dornish Marches repelling invaders that attempt to raid across the kingdom, as Horn Hill is situated on that border. William trusts his men-in-arms, and heavy conflict is one of the few things that can really bring trust to another person. Another likely plot, if interested, is a political ally in King's Landing, as William is Master of Laws, he'd be looking for informants.[break][break]













One of the things that immediately comes to mind when it comes to political enemies are the Dornish. By nature of being a Marcher Lord, William is inherently distrustful of any Dornishmen that enter his domain. Perhaps William has suffered some indignities under one of the Dornish nobles, or perhaps he had committed some atrocity in Dornish borders. [break][break]



It doesn't mean that they have to despise each other however, regardless of his opponent, William is likely to respect honor in combat and willing to part amicably with those who share the same courtesy. He has had more than one former enemy become an acquaintance.[break][break]















William is formerly married, though his wife passed away from childbirth. He has one son, Roger Tarly, who is a knight of adult age. If anyone would like to RP his sons, please feel free to contact me. I would imagine they both have the same sense of duty as the only prerequisite. [break][break]



William would most likely be attempting to find an appropriate marriage for one of his sons. He is not actively looking for an intimate relationship, but if it happens, it happens. He is not looking to marry for political affiliation for himself, so he has no need to rush any particular marriage and would be looking to marry someone he actually wants to be with.
