[attr="class,"bioentry"]Percy portrays himself as a kind, generous, and very polite young man on the surface to strangers. He tends to be very self-sacrificing, often willing to let his body and emotions take devastating blows for the sake of others; this trait is something that has angered several of his comrades and friends, most noticeably by his late fiancee, Faline. Percy also has unassuming and borderline naive traits, despite the troubling outcome of his father, Regulus, who died in his travels around the world. Percy has a very friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing personality, and is almost always seen smiling, making bad jokes, teasing friends, in an attempt to lighten any tension. He is shown to care deeply for his friends.

He is decidedly stubborn and strong-willed, frequently letting his pettiness and vindictiveness get the better of him. He is largely hostile towards Houses that look down on his life choices, and feels little incentive to follow orders with which he disagrees, earning him the distinction of being a loose cannon of sorts. Percy is also rather quick-tempered, however, he hates creating tension, so he will just internally deal with the arguments to follow. He has a reputation for being “suspiciously happy” and is an incurably sarcastic cynic, only too happy to bluntly and harshly relieve others of their comfortable delusions regarding mortality. Percy has also displayed a propensity towards impatience and an inability to sit still for long, which perhaps contributes to his love of travel.

Percy's enthusiastic, happy-go-lucky demeanor is actually a mask of his true, much less secure self. He appears to agonize over major choices much more internally, although he falls short of being paralyzed by his fears, still being able to make important decisions when necessary. He also demonstrates a feeling of responsibility for those close to him, taking attacks on his friends very personally. Despite appearing carefree, his experience as as the young Lord of House Mormont made him painfully aware of the realities of life, and his greatest fear appears to be suffering the way his father did. As the last surviving member of the house (as he knows), Percy has also demonstrated a ruthless demeanor when aiding the Brotherhood Without Banners. He showed no hesitation at all when physically or verbally berating others who do not take his advice. Even members who were older than Percy seemed genuinely intimidated by him.

Percy’s personality shift is considered, to others, as his "dark side", something he developed to survive after leaving his home on Bear Island. However, for those few people who have made an impact on him, Percy shows his deeper nature to be one of marked selflessness, unflinching loyalty, and great compassion. As someone who has had to suffer greatly at such a young age, Percy cannot ignore the true suffering of others and becomes sympathetic upon sensing pain and resolve in people's hearts. Though his solemn advice to such people is often tempered with brusque criticism, it is only because he genuinely wishes to place them on the most direct path forward.

As one who has to struggle with a solitary journey and blood written past, he urges those with families to never take their loved ones for granted, and as one burdened by the mistakes of his past, he stresses the necessity of people taking responsibility for their own errors. Though he will intervene on behalf of the oppressed if he concludes that a situation has called for it, Percy tends to help only those with the will - but not the means - to help themselves, in which case his recklessness and disdain for authority often has him bending the rules to dole out a Robin Hood-esque justice, earning him notoriety and popularity as a "hero boy.”

[attr="class,"bioentry"]House Mormont of Bear Island is a vassal house that holds fealty to House Stark of Winterfell. They rule Bear Island, an island far to the north-west of Winterfell. Though the story goes back many centuries, Percy’s begins with being the firstborn to Lord Regulus Mormont, of three children. His life was fairly normal growing up - he got along with his siblings and parents, and showed great promise for the family as heir.

Regulus was a man who enjoyed many pleasures in life - many which involved travel. Percy himself had always dreamed of traveling the world, listening to his father’s stories of all the adventures he went on as bedtime stories, and even reading the journals Regulus kept from his younger years.

Perseus had been arranged to marry a young woman of a lesser house named Faline, whom he loved dearly, as they grew up to be very close friends. They were to be married when they were of age, and when he would take on his father's duties as Lord of House Mormont. Unfortunately, at the age of 17, Faline had passed away of a sickness that plagued her village in Westeros, and Percy was heartbroken.

Once Perseus had turned 18, his father had began talking of his duties once he were to retire Lordship onto him. They had been preparing for a trip to Oldtown, where they would meet visit the Hightower, and Percy was to stay behind to prepare for his ceremony. He was quite excited to begin his journey as the new Lord of Bear Island, and to be able to visit such exotic and fabulous places.

It was unfortunate for Perseus to then learn by raven that the ship his family had sailed on, had shipwrecked off the coast of Cape Kraken. The only body they were able to locate was Lord Regulus’s. Longclaw, the house sword, was then sent back to Bear Island, to be passed down to the new Lord of House Mormont.

Percy held out hope that his family survived. But to be the lone survivor of his house sounded lonely and anguishing. Many houses had come to pay their respects for the loss of Regulus, and Perseus held it together in order to be there for his people. But as the months passed, with no word on where his family was, or if they were alive, he was beginning to lose hope.

He decided to take this time to travel, so that he may focus on his duties as Lord when he return. He was due for a mighty big vacation, and so he left the island to be watched over by his council, while he left to travel the world.

Many would consider him to have abandoned his own house, since he has not returned for several years. For all he knew, perhaps his family finally came home and they were alive. He would have rather continued his travels though. Along the way, he met the Brotherhood Without Banners, and when they learned of his House, and knew of their fate, they welcomed him as one of their own. They established a bond, and sees them as a strong ally, but he refuses to join them, not wanting those who still know of his family lineage to question his alliance.
