It takes determination, will power and a knack for cheating death to be Lord Paramount of the North. A behemoth in personality and stature, Cassius is anything but the typical brute. Born in the rugged plains of Winterfell and molded by the unforgiving cruel long winters of the North, there remains very little that strikes fear in the eldest Stark. A warrior who has fought many wars, won and lost many battles, Cassius is but a product of his surroundings. Whereas he could have turned cold as the wall up North, all of his experiences have shaped the man into what he is today; a leader, through and through, and a father at his core.[break] [break]In many ways Cassius is a broken man, worn-down and grated. He does not like bloodshed, justified or not. However, if it is required he will be the first on the battle-field, leading his soldiers into the fray. When it comes to governing, he rules with an iron fist. He is first and foremost a man of principle, leading him to feel unnaturally devoted to carrying out the duty of the Starks. He believes in law and order, and while in some sense of the word he could be considered tyrannical, his decree stem from the betterment of the people, whatever that may be. He takes no shit from anyone, whether from his family, the people of the North or the King himself. He demands respect on all levels— those who oppose him are considered his enemies. Those that break his laws are considered his enemies. As the judge of his jurisdiction, Cassius also fulfills the role of executioner: he who passes the sentence should swing the sword[break] [break]Despite everything, the eldest Stark remains for the most part unchanged since his youth. He is charismatic around others, even jovial around those hes comfortable with. He has a tendency to get distracted by the finer things in life, such as booze and women. Though married and a man of clear principles, hes otherwise weak when it comes to women. He has been known to have extramarital affairs, but refuses to admit to his weakness. When it comes to his family, there's nothing he holds closer to his heart, not even Winterfell. Hes a doting father, often throwing praise to his children as being better than him, especially his eldest whom he considers more of an heir to the North than even himself. While in no way stupid, Cassius leaves the politics and tactics of battle to Jeren Stark, preferring to be the man leading his men into battle as opposed to the one who barks orders from the back.[break] [attr="class","bioheader"]history. [attr="class,"bioentry"]Winter is Coming It wasn't just a saying passed down through every Stark generation. Winters in Westeros were known for being long and arduous, but never is that more true than in the north. Cassius Stark was born in the midst of one of the longest seasons in decades, at the heart of Winterfell. His father, Adonis Stark was perhaps one of the most well known of the Starks, a legendary soldier and an aspiring King. He was betrothed at an early age to a Nyella Tyrell, forming an alliance between the two houses and producing three prodigies. The oldest was Talisa Stark, known for her extreme brilliance and majestic features. Next came Cassius, born at the epicenter of a blizzard. Adonis believed his son to be a good omen, a sign from the Gods that winter had finally reached its end song. Indeed it did, unfortunately Adnois was not there to see it. A survior of war, it was of bitter irony that he would succumb to a measly cold.[break][break] Some time had passed, and many battles were fought. Victories were received handedly and defeat came in kind. Years would not only age the Stark’s body, but his mind and family would develop in suit. Cassius and his wife would eventually give birth to three children, all showing promise in some facet of life, and all deserving of the Stark. Taking to his eldest, Jeren, Cassius would begin the preparation for his succession at a very young age. His child rebelled, favoring myth and ethos over steel and gore, nonetheless, events would ultimately change his perception. In time, the child’s mind for combat would develop greatly and his shrewdness made for his most potent instrument. Cassius, a loving father and strident leader, did well to raise the boy into the future leader he was meant to be. Despite his age, Jeren would become the lord’s greatest advisor, and under great provision, referenced his child for various political and strategic matters as the days faded into the unknown. [break][break] Still, a father’s duty is never complete and a lord’s task nigh-infinite. Living for his family and his people, Cassius presently resides as Lord of Winterfell, continually training Jeren in the arts of war and politics. His youngest child, now married and residing elsewhere, and his middle child, left to their own devices, the man matured from war seeks his next challenge. Winter is coming. [attr="class","bioheader"]inventory. [attr="class,"bioentry"][break]Ice— A Valyrian steel greatsword and has been the heirloom of House Stark for over four centuries. The blade itself is about six feet in length; dark and smokey, as it is made from Valyrian-forged steel it never needs to be sharpened. Even though the sword is of daunting size (As well as surprisingly light), at his own gargantuan size Cassius can wield it with one hand rather effortlessly.[break] [break] [break]Yara (Direwolf)— One of the smallest pups in the litter, but one strikingly beautiful with her ebony coat.
