The year is 286 AC. King Jaehaerys II has just passed, leaving the throne without a rightful ruler. While his three children fight for the crown, Winter creeps closer, and unimaginable darkness looms.
Not all alliances will be so typical this time. In fact, many people have a crucial effect on the way this story is told. As for the ending, we only hope there are enough people left alive to tell it after its passed.

EURON BARATHEON
IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY, YOUR TRUE NATURE SURFACES
FRIENDS
Euron is a courteous man to everybody regardless of their status, birth or gender. Quick with a joke and friendly, he has very little problem making 'friends. However in reality, these shallow friendships mean very little to him. That does not mean he is willing to just discard them though. Euron is constantly on the lookout for something more genuine. As a knight, actions mean more to him than pretty words and status and as such, the only way to earn Euron's friendship is through deliberate action. He does not discriminate against people of lower birth like some other lords. He loves his family regardless of their feelings for him but even they are not excused from his judging eyes. In fact, he holds the members of House Baratheon and his "true friends" to a high standard and is disappointed if he feels that they have betrayed his expectations.
ENEMIES
It is hard to get Euron to consider one a friend. Some may argue that it is even harder to get Euron to consider one an enemy. As stated before, he is a man who acknowledges action more than simple words. Simple verbal slights against his house and his friends will be punished accordingly, of course, but he has never killed a man over something so petty. Such people are only treated as nuisances as opposed to actual adversaries. But if someone hurts his family or friends, actively starts pillaging the Stormlands, etc then he begins to take it more personal. Like his friends and family, he also holds his enemies and rivals to a high standard.
LOVERS
Although unmarried and without a betrothed, Euron has been with women before. Maidens that threw themselves at him after he won a tournament, tavern wenches that he met on his travels and the list goes on. However, those women were just tools he used to satisfy his natural urges and he did not feel any emotional attachment to any of them although some of them may have thought otherwise. Subconsciously, it is possible that Euron refuses to allow himself to have romantic feelings as he knows that his eventual spouse will be a woman handpicked by his parents. When he finally does get married, he plans on staying faithful to his wife provided she is able to give him everything that he needs.
hey aris i'm here to bother you again hello notice me senpai yo there! :3 i've studied euron's app for a bit and noticed that he and selyse aren't all that different in a sense: they're both mistrusting of others and they're both the silent anger type. most of all, selyse is in love with fairy tales and i imagine that she would think quite highly of him because he really seems like the sort of knight from the fairy tales she likes to daydream about. perhaps she even made him a main character in one of her stories? xD i'll even dare to say she might've even had a silly crush on him when she was younger (13-15?) and would've seen him as the embodiment of a fairy tale's knight in shining armor? otherwise, she would treat him with respect, as she isn't all that used to being social, although she certainly does not lack the skill to be a social butterfly, but her brutal honesty makes it pretty difficult for her to make friends. ;_; add/subtract whatever you see fit!
You know I'll plot with you whenever, Fred <3. I really like your idea since it's not fairly uncommon for big name knights to have admirers and only amongst the smallfolk (Loras and Sansa, Waymar Royce and Sansa, etc lol). Would these two have been fairly close? Or would it really have been like Sansa/Waymar where they had only met once before but she still managed to have a crush on him due to her love of fairy tales? Euron has a pretty shining exterior and will probably try to get along with Selyse even if she isn't very used to be social. And yes, he would be very flattered if he ever found out he was the main character of one of Selyse's stories.
i believe she would have watched him from afar for a while now, never really had the courage to face him and admit that she sees him as the valiant knight of her stories, and when she will, she might have a minor heart attack. xD perhaps they could get properly introduced at the festivities thrown by her father? :3
Yeah, totally. Euron is competing in the tourney while Selyse is a spectator. Her father doesn't seem too fond of Euron or his family but we should have them meet there anyway.
this is way late i know, but in my defense i was waiting to hop into that KL thread instead of posting here like you offered, OTL. i can still try to wait for that thread to move a bit before throwing sae in, but if it doesn't or something i'd perfectly willing to set up the thread where they can meet. maybe drag aegys into it too, idk.
As the thirdborn, Alayne would've admired him as a child for his skill in public speaking, and hero-worshipped him for a time. He would've inspired her to take up her rhetoric and improve on it religiously. Times have changed and hero-worship has turned into something more solid, more serious. As family, Alayne cares for him. She makes it her duty to look out for her family. Euron and Alayne share traits that their father has passed down to them - their fondness for rhetoric, their affinity for strategy and politics and lastly, the strong need and desire to work for the advancement of House Baratheon. They both know that they need to be ruthless to achieve greatness for their House, and they will not skimp out on pragmatic action.
Now ten and eight, Alayne envies him for being heir. As his sister, she makes it her mission to put political advancement for their House and she will not refuse offering him her help to be able to make it a reality. Her judgement of him is high, she holds him to a standard. As House Baratheon's heir, she will make it her mission to be his helper in his quest for political advancement. She does not care much for petty judgement based on her gender, for him to ask her to stop minding politics - and she expects him to see her not as a tool, but as a partner and an ally and as his sister who can help him. She will not expect him to protect her because she's a big girl now and she should be the one protecting him for the sake of their shared goals.
Working for his cause is one of her plans. If there is anything within her power that he wants her to do, she will not hesitate to implement this course of action. She is stubborn as a bull, I'll give her that credit. Anything for Onii-sama, not because she loves him, but because she thinks his cause as the house heir is worthy enough.
