Nes is he firstborn child of the relatively young lord Arryn. She was born on one of the coldest days of the year under a cloudless sky. Her upbringing was pretty much the usual, although she was instructed in some manly arts as well, most likely, in case that she did not get a brother. The girl spent most of her time isolated in the Eyrie but always urged to see the rest of Westeros as well. There was a boy from the riverlands that once worked in the kitchen but he did not stay long. Nessa played with him for a while before she noticed him stealing food that he was not allowed to get. Knowing that her playmate would likely be dismissed from the services and punished anyway, she took him out for one last game, a play to see who could stare down into the vale through the moon door the longest. She feigned a loss to give him a push, curious as to how the execution actually worked.
Other than that episode though, she diligently did her best to grow into a fine woman and did not allow herself to find any romance in the realms of men, awaiting a marriage one day.
