He does all this with a level head and a smile, though behind closed doors an officer may meet an icier man should Cicero become stressed. He absorbs himself in his work, and he often does not sleep unless a bottle of wine finds its way into his quarters. [break][break] At home and among family, Cicero is soft spoken and amiable. A Lannister’s ambition tamed by years of naval work and a sense of accomplishment, Cicero has little gripe with being the second son. When he does have a chance to come home he is often tired, but always tries to make time for his wife and children. As a father Cicero missed many occasions whilst he was a captain, though he always brought back gifts and stories for not only his own but his nieces and nephews as well. Though Lannisport boasts a considerable naval presence, it is dwarfed under the shadow of both the Iron and Redwyne fleets that neighbor it. Whilst the head of the family has focused upon the affairs of Westeros, Cicero was raised to concern himself with the country's maritime defenses and endeavors. [break][break] Cicero’s life as a middle child among the Lannister’s main branch left him without the burden of inheriting his father’s responsibilities. He was an attentive child with a great curiosity and creativity. Though his father was not hateful to him, Cicero had little attention from the Lord of Casterly Rock, and instead found a father figure in his first cousin once removed. A man without a son of his own, his cousin took a liking to the young Lannister and taught him the ways of seafaring. Captivating the young boy, Cicero would begin spending more time in Lannisport than he did within the Rock. His cousin being the admiral, Cicero was commissioned a midshipman upon the flagship of the Lannister Fleet, the Laughing Lion. He excelled in his career and worked his way up the ranks until he himself was the captain of the vessel. He took on a foreign girl from a lesser noble house as his wife, and she bore him two children. [break][break] Now serving as the Admiral of Lannisport, Cicero spends less time out at sea and more time in meetings with his officers under a constant worry of the threat of their northern neighbors as well as threats of piracy of the less organized variety. A skirmish with an enemy swordsman has left his left leg lame, and the sound of the Lannister’s cane can be heard with each footstep as he walks the cobblestone paths of Lannisport.
