When she shed her first blood, she begged her father to marry her off, too frightened to tell him that her tutor did all but deflower her. When he refused, she began erecting measures to protect herself.[break][break]These measure, when Alira was thirteen, left the maester dead in his study. Alira erased all evidence of her ever having been there, but her father suspected her foul play. Though he never confronted her about having possibly murdered the maester, he punished her by setting up an arrangement he knew she would hate: marriage to a Stark.[break][break]Alira hated him. She hated Cassius so much. He wasn't pretty or rich or showering her with gifts. She made it her mission to be the worst bride she could be. However, they still consummated the marriage and had their first child. She had given him an heir, and she found an odd amount of peace with being a mother. So she bore two more children for her husband whom she hated so much. [break][break]As the years went on, Alira began to realize that perhaps he was her prince. She wasn't abused. She was respected and safe. She had three beautiful children. She was a wolf. But she wasn't about to let Cassius think she was ever OK with him stealing her from her home and ruining her dreams of being a great lioness in a southern castle.
