Holding each other like ransom notes
dorne's blazing sun
***do note, in ebon's sellsword/merc adventures in essos he often donned disguises and frequented the alias marik. so if you choose to be someone of that part of his past, its very likely he'll remember you and not likely you'll instantly recognize him. ofc, the prince is never afraid to confront those that wish to be confronted.

Ebon’s past before becoming the head of house Martell is no fairy-tale story, or typical prince in training episode. While adored by many and praised by the majority of his people, the male’s molding into a benevolent ruler was something definitely unforeseen. Highly touted as the most reckless of his siblings, Ebon’s early years included infuriating his mother and father with his apparent lack of care for his nobility and clear disregard of their principles. He cared little for the luxurious robes that his mother hand picked out for him and the tutors that surrounded him. To be frank, one would almost believe that he was some sort of mentally challenged bastard son and many saw his uncouth nature as a threat to the safety and future of Dorne itself. Nonetheless, his father only termed his ill behavior as a phase that he was going through, and assured that his eldest son would quickly learn the higher standard that accompanied their family name.
And by his early teens, Ebon’s rascal nature still hadn’t subsided. Like any lad, he found himself enamored with the rise of two things: his cock and his blade. Pleasure was a nightly quest and by the day he dabbled into different poisons and gases, coaxing the blade of his trademark double edged pole-arm and other arms with the deadly liquid. The lust for nobility never set in and he was constantly referred to as a prince of dirt by his family. A moniker that the youth had no issue bearing nor cared for. In fact, upon a fateful night he skirted his duties for a change in life. Peeling into the darkness on a dornish steed, Ebon pursued his own path towards a free life, and not the one that his father and the dornish tasked him with. Accompanying him was only a small handful of daunting men and women, desiring the same exploration of the world that consumed him. By now as any person can assume, Ebon was widely regarded as a wretch of a son and strongly disliked by many who received wind of his disappearance. But Ebon’s young pilgrimage into the various regions of Westeros was an essential part of his divine development.
It was at the time that he became a young mercenary along with his group of men, dispatching his prince identity for a life a bit more to his liking. A golden mask cupped his entire face save his vision and he shed his own name for another alias in that of Marik. Formidable in the art of combat, his small band helped many for coin and there losses were always little to none. The professionalism of Dorne's guerilla tactics and his father's tutelage unknowingly paid off. It wasn’t until he traveled from Westeros to Essos that he met a match for his skills in combat by the name of Magnus. In Magnus’ savagery and strength, he saw his speed and affinity for poisons as a welcomed rival. With a mutual respect for their styles of combat, the two combined their experienced handfuls and became known as the Basilisk Brothers. Such a beast was symbolic since it described the perfect union between the two as Ebon produced venom that induced a violent madness upon their enemies. The time that the youth had spent as a sellsword only served to increase his versatility with weapons plucked from the hands of the dead and used with an attempt to understand it. From his family's loved spears to swords to bows and everything else under the sun. Ebon even ensured that he was prepared even if he had to use his fist. More favorably though, he grew in the art of his silver tongue and poisons, going to great lengths to create varying toxins from the resources around him. In his years studying the art, his skill and deadliness in the trade only became that much more fulfilling and he studied their effects righteously. It stretched to the very point to were he kept his own vials on different poisons on his person and he became damn good at causing the death of others from afar, eliminating him as a suspect of any evidence or activity following the death of his marks.
Given his time in Essos, the passionate scorpion found love in more than between the legs of a whore surprisingly. Somewhat of a gentle woman that sought the bad boy life, Lyssandra of Volantis and Ebon grew together to the point that she joined the Basilisk company, irregardless of her lack of combat skill. She was a noblewoman and the first taste of his old life that he abandoned long ago, leaving him to riddle how something so beautiful emerged from highborn principles. Nonetheless, they wed at a young age and shortly following after, she conceived a daughter by the name of Eryn. In her he experienced his first joy of fatherhood and secretly fostered the idea to send her home in fear of her safety given his line of work. Lyssandra reasoned with him to not send her back and instead keep her close to him as a family, to which he finally agreed to. Deep down, he still thinks of his decision as selfish, but it's one that he wouldn't change since he had the joy of witnessing all of her firsts.
With time came fame and success, though the group never grew in size too boldly. With the savagery and wit of the two, the two men and their group became infamous for their feats through Essos. Nonetheless, no man can become bigger than the very law itself, at least not for long. The success of the sellsword company became far too much as the law of the land placed a death warrant on the head of the Basilisk brothers. To Ebon’s fortune, the alias he forged beneath the group was targeted and his true identity was hidden well enough that he had no problems returning to his homeland with his daughter. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said of the stalwart Magnus and his lack of a proper disguise. It was then that the two concluded that it was best to disband and they went their separate ways with the survivors of their respective homes, promising one another to one day cross paths again. Though word has spread that Magnus had been caught and properly dealt with over the lapse of these years.
In the young prince’s surprise return, he found his mother astonished that he still lived and his father gravely sick upon his deathbed. With the arrival of his surviving companion’s, his mother and father was in shock to know that they had a granddaughter after all these years. They took her in immediately and showered her with gifts, but their ruling on Ebon followed quickly given Dorne's state. The timing of his arrival was opportune as he spent four days and nights locked in his father’s room spending the last moments of his father’s life with him and learning the secrets that he had kept locked beneath his tongue. The aged man even had a proper women for him to remarry in Dorne in order to continue his lineage. In light of marrying again, he brought his firstborn in the royal fold though some question her legitimacy as heir. Though per customs and to Ebon's knowledge, her right remains true. Whether if his newest wife agrees or disagrees remains unseen. But in every step Eryn takes and word that exudes from her mouth, he sees a little of him in her in his younger years. Simultaneously, his love for all his children remains constant and fair, with none getting more acknowledged than the other.
It wasn’t until his father's death that Ebon was declared the newest Prince of the Dorne, and since then he hasn’t left his kingdom. At one point childish and irresponsible, Ebon’s decisions since succeeded his father has been to the liking of many of his people. Though he cares little for the game of thrones and for civilization beyond Dorne, Ebon makes sure to stay relatively updated with the world beyond.
