The year is 286 AC. King Jaehaerys II has just passed, leaving the throne without a rightful ruler. While his three children fight for the crown, Winter creeps closer, and unimaginable darkness looms.
Not all alliances will be so typical this time. In fact, many people have a crucial effect on the way this story is told. As for the ending, we only hope there are enough people left alive to tell it after its passed.

rie is a very soft and gentle soul. he prefers to be around animals or nature instead of other people, and can often be found exploring the areas outside his homestead. that being said, he does enjoy the occasional meeting with friends or other nobles, but he's terrible with politics and has no desire to further his position toward the throne.

it's hard for rie to dislike someone, but anyone who is really into politics is an enemy. anyone who would purposefully harm his friends and family members just for the hell of it are also on his naughty list. he can hold grudges for years, but can smile toward said person as if nothing has happened as well.

his family is known for being incestual when it comes to relationships and furthering their bloodline. rie has no intention of marrying a sibling or a cousin or anytone remotely related to him-- as far as he's concerned, love isn't something one comes by easily and he'll probably never marry or have children of his own. and he's totally fine with that.

aerion and saerysa seem pretty similar in mentality, both kind of gentle though sae is being pulled into politics and is super dogmatic about family while as far as i can see aerion is... not. but aside from that i think they'd get along very well! it'd just be a subject they don't broach.
maybe sae routinely read a bunch of stories to him when they were a lot younger? they both love books, and they probably hung out in gardens lots, as well as going out into the woods whenever he wanted to explore or what have you. sae doesn't like being alone and she'd enjoy tagging along doing random / peaceful things while aegys is leaving them behind on the warpath.

hey! dom is about the same age and is very much on the same wavelength of staying away from politics. his approach would be to get rid of all the corrupt lying two-faced assholes and have everything be above-board all the time with no political games allowed whatsoever—so he's too simplistic and critical basically. but he'd like rie! (the tagaryens are ehh but he def thinks people should be judged on an individual basis.) they could go riding together! like maybe at storm's end and they're out riding but get stuck in a storm and have to take shelter in a felled tree or cave or something and have fun making shadow puppets and playing games until the rain stops.
