POSITIVE A walking story of the Lannisters mistakes. The middle child who's existence is the reason the rules exist. Tylen is the kind of man who could do all the wrong in the world and smooth talk his way out of it. Charming like his brother, Tylen could make friends with everyone, but unlike his brother, who has the flair of a gentlmen, Tylen carries himself as a dashing rogue. The second son of the Lannister family is not afraid to speak his mind, often offering council in quick-witted jabs. Humor is a trait he holds dear, as it's the only one that really makes the day to day grind interesting. Like a true Lannister, he holds his family in high regard, keeping their council closer than others. His sense of honor is more to himself than his family. He firmly believes in the glory of the individual, but respects the glory of acting in the name of ones house. | LIKES - Wine - Women - Swordplay - Literature - Cooking DISLIKES - Alcoholics - Rapists - Cravens - Formality/Ceremony - Traitors | NEGATIVE Tylen has a problem with authority. As a child, he would be the one to goof off and get in trouble while his elder brother worked and excelled at everything. This has carried over into his adulthood, though with a mask of glibness to make sure he keeps his head. How else would you insult the king to his face and get away with it? The second son never cared to be anything similar to his father or brother. He didn't want lands or titles, children or anything like that. He would take women though. Oh yes, many women. Despite his age, Tylen never seemed to grow up. He finds himself often at odds with his brother, and is quick to become argumentative with them. |

Tylen was born the second son of the previous Lannister head. His was an unexpected and supposedly unwanted birth, but one that was treated with care all the same. The old lord believed that the family would always be as strong as their weakest member, and so sought to bring his second son into the same regime as his first. Unlike Tylen's dear brother, the venerated "Titan" of the West, He was not such a person as to be micromanaged by the tutors of Casterly Rock. He was the rowdy child, the one who enjoyed sword-fighting with sticks with the local blacksmiths child, or jumping from tall cliffs into unsafe waters for fun. His father obviously didn't approve, and many a night did Tylen spend undergoing a cruel form of "discipline" while his brother continued to excel in study and martial skill.
By the time the two were of age, it was clear that Tyrael was the clear inheritor of Casterly Rock, and Tylen would be relegated as a back-up, inclined to continue training himself and become someone who could at least keep the Lannisters from going under should tragedy take his elder brother. Tylen disagreed with such notions. The Lannisters numbered three children by then. So the second child made a selfish decision in pushing his responsibilities onto his younger sibling, and declaring he would serve Westeros in his own way. Fearful that his son would do something drastic like taking The Black, Tylen's father pulled strings to send his son somewhere that they would both find suitable. This was much to Tylen's favor. When you're father is so tired of dealing with you that he buys you a place in the Kingsguard, you've done a good job.
Tylen was sent to King's Landing in his early adult years, applying what martial training he was given at Casterly Rock as squire to the Kingsguard until he was deemed suitable to serve as one himself. While there, he developed a taste for the vices of the world, and started drinking and having many a dalliance with the ladies of the city. By the time he was in his thirties, he had grown a flattering reputation as the "golden sword" for more reasons than one. His talent with the sword was next to none, and not just the weapon either. Rival knights hated him, and women flocked to him. Life was good. In twenty years of service, Tylen had distinguished himself just as well as his own brother, and ascended to the honored title of captain of the King's Guard.
Tylen now sits and waits, watching as the current king whores himself into an early grave. He has grown weary of the current status quo, serving his King only out of a sense of loyalty to the reputation he has built for himself and his family. Were the king to die in a fit of madness, disease, or lechery, Tylen would not shed a tear.
