The year is 286 AC. King Jaehaerys II has just passed, leaving the throne without a rightful ruler. While his three children fight for the crown, Winter creeps closer, and unimaginable darkness looms.
Not all alliances will be so typical this time. In fact, many people have a crucial effect on the way this story is told. As for the ending, we only hope there are enough people left alive to tell it after its passed.

AUG. 19: So we are now officially open to the public. We have a mini-event flashback thread going on, and our main event just began. Feel free to make a second canon if you can keep both of them active enough.
Don't hesitate in pestering staff with questions; it's what we're here for! Let's raise a glass and make a cheer toward a successful launch of Winds of Winter.
The Red Keep had always been a sight she dreamed of seeing up close as a child, wonderfully splayed in front of the stretch of sky, the centerpiece of the wretched place she grew up in. Her head had been filled with the vision of nobility, of perfection -- prince and princesses and the King and Queen with their snowy hair and aura of elegance. In her dreams, it was a place of perfection, a place where everything is right and nothing was defiled nor dishonorable. Her years as a Knight told her otherwise -- everything in the castle is filthy and all of the filth were swept under the proverbial rug, tossed out with none the wiser.
Her post had just been vacated and her task now was to do her daily rounds, her armor clinking within the silent hallways as she walked through the marbled floors. Golden hair shone and swayed as she passed along the diaphanous windows, emerald eyes glancing out to look at the bustling, common-folk down below. Life in King's Landing had always been fast-paced, and being in the castle slowed her down. Duty had always been the first in her course of action, as to which she may traverse back to Saerysa's quarters, to stand guard at her door until she was called for again.
Yet not all the things go according to plan, she mused, as she rounded a corner and found one of the people that had been there to visit as esteemed guests. She was not privy to the reasons, as rumormongering did not really strike her fancy, but she was still curious as to how the firstborn Arryn, it seemed, the future lady of the Vale, had found her stay in the magnificent castle. With a bow, Elysia greeted the girl, her white cape dropping to her side for a moment as she did so, carefully keeping her eyes to the ground, "My Lady." A greeting, her strong yet lyrical voice conveying the words gracefully before she offered a curt smile, "I trust you have been most comfortable during your stay?"

Ah, the Kingsguard. Vanessa had heard of them, of course, and even some of them, but for the most part these people had been rather quiet and everything. They were not exactly gossiping and mostly on the job, so she found it just a little bit peculiar that this woman would approach her so casually. In the first moment she had been a little worried since it seldom spelled something good when a guard unexpectedly addressed you but fortunately that had not happened. Saerysa was likely still keeping her promise and quiet, what a good girl.
Still, her interest was piqued and she did not waste any time as she seized that person up. As interesting as kingsguard were, a female one was the cherry on top. There were many questions that she would have asked her but she held back for the moment. It was not yet clear if that was just a polite little reassuring visit or genuine interest for conversation. “Well, most is a strong word, I presume. I have been comfortable Se…no, Dame is the right title, isn’t it? My apologies, I do not meet female knights that often,” she began to talk, smiling and slightly giggling at that last little mishap.
“But yes, I have been well. But it is a little boring in here while I have to wait for the one that called me here. I could use some diversion.”

I never thought I'd hear
The Lady Arryn knew how to hold herself well, as with any other noblesse, she had a certain air of regality around her, truly worthy of the title Lady of the Vale, in the future that is. What she knew about the Vale, however, had been more from her research in books than actual knowledge of said place . Elysia had never sat foot out of King's Landing after all, as with delegations for the royal family had always been someone who knew of said terrain. But she will remedy that soon enough, "Well met, my Lady, forgive my intrusion if you were enjoying the peace alone." She offered a smile as Vanessa spoke, giving the title of Dame to her, pretty rare around the Kingdom or so she understood, "It is quite alright, I prefer Ser if you would please. The Kingsguard are all of equal standing aside from our Lord Commander, after all."
It may have come off as a little bit insolent, yet the girl was not raised like any conventional knight after all. Formalities and any other king of studying when it came to titles was not given to her. For the woman, knowing who to bow for or to kneel for was enough. They all go back to the same ashes once they all die anyway, "There are a lot of entertainment befitting a lady as yourself, mayhaps you can ask your handmaidens about it." Yet her sense of duty was strong, and the girl looked truly alone. Principles told her to not leave a vulnerable nobility unguarded and so with another bow, she would offer her company until such time the lady tired of her.
"Until we find them, I shall gladly accompany you, Lady Arryn." Elysia had no ulterior motives after all, only that it was her duty as a Knight and as a service from the house of Targaryen whom she served, "My name is Elysia, my lady, forgive my rudeness."
“Elysia? That name is way too beautiful to be hidden behind a blade. But I guess it didn’t bring you much joy when working your way up to this position, didn’t it? Elysia lends itself much more to ‘lady’ than it lends itself to ‘Ser’, after all,” she replied as she walked up a little closer to the Kingsguard, hands folded behind her back. Vanessa was completely harmless after all, the only way in which she might have been a predator being the entertaining one.
Speaking of….She found herself doing a noblewoman’s laugh. “But what good would it do to ask my handmaidens about entertainment? They are my handmaidens after all, any and all entertainment they could offer I already know. I did not come to King’s Landing to do the same things that I do in the Eyrie, after all,” she explained her behaviour, as she took position next to the knight. Since she was giving herself in said knight’s care it was only fitting that she would let her lead on.
“I came here to experience other kinds of entertainment. Well that and because I seek to represent my father, who is currently in Dorne I think. In either event, I would be much more interesting in the kinds of entertainment that a Kingsguard would indulge in. And don’t give me ‘duty is entertainment enough’ or something like that.” Vanessa slightly imitated an old man as she said that, clearly quoting one of her own guards.
She was a bit taken aback at the forwardness of the Highborn girl, but nevertheless, she decided to humor her. The golden-haired Kingsguard peered at the Arryn thoughtfully, her head bowing to acknowledge the compliment that was given to her. Elysia was a name that was given to her in a hurry, without any thought at all, and so telling her that it was beautiful was something that the girl can never get, "Thank you for your kindness, my Lady." It was merely the right thing to say, was it not? Knights have no right to feel flattered just because someone praised them. More so, being praised meant that she just needed to work harder, that way she won't hear the same praise twice.
It was the cycle of life for someone without a name.
The lady related her concerns about the entertainment her handmaiden's know, and the admission of knowing more than them made her raise an eyebrow. Noblewomen of all shapes and sizes always struck her as reserved and proper, but the lady Arryn did not seem to be as tame as them all. She offered the black-haired female a small smile, acknowledging her little tirade about entertainment and even giving a small chuckle at the small quote she said. It may have been one of the famous quotes from the blonde herself, as duty did always come first for her.
"I'm afraid my sense of entertainment will just bore you, my lady, I only draw joy in protecting the King after all." Another smile was sent the visitor's way, rare as snow on this part of the world if it came from the stoic knight. Elysia was more at ease when talking to women after all, it was less threatening, and less needing any special kind of guard, "That and swordplay. But I don't think you ever indulged in such acts. You have knights for that after all." It was a respectful summation, yet she still made a small bow just to show that it was a comment never intended to offend her anyhow.

Gee, this was one stuck up knight. Then again, she had not expected anything else from a Kingsguard. It kind of was their reputation after all and she had accepted the possibility. However, that did not mean she would just accept the outcome. This woman had just secured herself as Vanessa’s plaything for the day, whether she wanted or not. “You should not sell yourself under value. You aren’t guarding the king right now after all, so you are either assigned differently or off-duty. And yet you are not miserable. Henceforth, protecting him cannot be your sole source of enjoyment. Well, not sole since you would still have your sword, of course,” she elaborated with a shrug. Vanessa was taking her chances and did not hold back at all, not necessarily because she deemed herself higher of position, but because she did not deem it necessary to stay fully formal.
“Well that and swordplay. I will have you know that I did indeed receive a little training, so I could defend myself. OF course I could not keep up with a Kingsguard. But maybe you could show me a few tricks, that could help me be even safer in the future!”
