When did we build this broken home?
POSITIVE To most Southeners, the values of the North are negative. They're regarded as staunch, dry and as cold as their summers. They keep on talking about Winter and they never laugh. That is too bad for the Southeners and other children of the summer, for Willard was born during a long winter. He is a Northman to the bone, with a grim face and simple values. Any honest man is going to appreciate him. Anybody down the Neck is not. | LIKES - Justice - Discipline - Order - the North - the Wall DISLIKES - Lies - Dorne - King's Landing - House Martell - Arrogance | NEGATIVE If the North has something in abundance, it might be stubbornness. Their land is far and one can look from horizon to horizon without spotting another land. But this apparent width of gaze is a federalistic approach to things: The Lords of the North do care little for what is beyond their realm. There is some far-away King on some far-away chair. Willard has always heeded royal summons but his concern is as solitary as his being: The North |

[PTab=BIOGRAPHY]
Holding each other like ransom notes
the warden of the north
Willard was born during a long winter. His older brother didn't make it, causing the child to emerge hardened. When he rode during the blooming landscape during his first summer, he had already lost his passion for joy or merriments, he could only think of the harvest and its importance for the coldness of the next winter.
His father taught him the values that he passed on to his children. In time he married and had a lot of them. Whenever his King summoned the North, Willard rode South at the top of his banners. More frequently he led men up North, however. Close friends with the Lord-Commander, Lord Stark joined the declining order on multiple raids.
From one such raid he returned lacking an eye, but he had gained justice by putting down the traitor Magnus Umber. The traitor's companion, a distinctive fighter with an even more distinctive accent, cut him with a poisoned blade. The wound festered, causing Lord Stark to cut the rotting eye out of his skull with a hot dagger.
One eye serves him well enough. He only needs his ears to recognize the masked stranger, should they ever cross paths again.
