The year is 286 AC. King Jaehaerys II has just passed, leaving the throne without a rightful ruler. While his three children fight for the crown, Winter creeps closer, and unimaginable darkness looms.
Not all alliances will be so typical this time. In fact, many people have a crucial effect on the way this story is told. As for the ending, we only hope there are enough people left alive to tell it after its passed.

KATSA MARTELL
FORTY ■ HETEROSEXUAL ■ PRINCESS ■ THE CAT ■ APPLICATION
IF YOU'VE DONE WRONG, IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE SHE'S FOUND YOU
friends
she can be charming. a real terror, but helpful to keep at your side when trouble begins to stir. she thrives in chaos, and amongst chaotic people. quick to laugh, to smile, to push boundaries, to try new experiences, to have fun. being married and becoming a mother never did quite smooth out all the wrinkles to katsa’s personality. bold, patient, shameless, katsa could be a priceless friend. could be. but she so rarely allows herself to be that. friendship requires a sense of vulnerability that she just isn’t overly interested in. she can pretend, like playing a game. for in the end, people are little more than toys to be played with in katsa’s eyes. amusing, until they are not. and then, discarding them becomes simple enough.
SHE IS RENOWNED ALL AROUND FOR BRINGIN' PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO THE GROUND
enemies
her words can be like poison. seeping in deep, insidious and toxic of nature. her temper can be black, destructive and ugly. and mercy is too soft of an emotion for her tastes. yet, that being said, there are few, other than targaryens, whom katsa would consider to be her foe. allowing another to crawl under her skin isn’t a state of being that kat allows for herself. rather she prefers to do the crawling. to taunt, to tease, to mock, to weasel, to provoke. watching, manipulating, another into glowering and bellowing like some beast of burden never fails to entertain katsa.
IT'S QUITE THE JOB, BUT SOMEONE'S GOT TO DO IT
romances
there was a time where katsa did not believe in the word “love.” in her youth, she had shown little hesitation in parting her thighs for men who had caught her fancy, it had mattered little to her whether or not they were married, promised or otherwise. katsa had not been looking for love. she had not expected such softness even in her marriage. but love she had found, as strange as it sometimes seemed to her. of course, a “peaceful” marriage could never suit katsa. now-and-then, she might take for herself a paramour to dally around with. passionate but never lasting. a means to provoke the sincerity of her husband’s affections, to test the resilience of their bond. to taste a whisper of her past, to add heat and sparks to her marriage with an unnecessary and cruel game. to remind herself that she isn’t the only monster in her bed. regardless of her own destructiveness, katsa is very much aware that no-one has or ever will hold her heart as her husband does.
MAN OR A MOB, SHE'S THE ONE WHO WILL PURSUE IT
family
family has always been important to katsa. why, she had consented to marrying into house martell for the sake of her parents, family and those who relied upon house greyjoy for their livelihood. at times she might feel conflicted over her sense of duty and identity, but her love for her children is uncompromising. as a mother, kat does not hover and does not scold. instead, she attempts to teach them and equip them with knowledge and skill to protect them from any who might wish them ill-will. to make each one of them strong of mind, body and soul. around her children katsa is capable of a tenderness that she dares not display elsewhere, and yet, like any lioness among her cubs, it would take very little to encourage her to bare her teeth. rarely does katsa seek an excuse to sate her bloodlust, should her aggression be inspired by her loved ones her behavior could sink to a new level of depravity.
Remember that crew you sailed with to Essos with? Had a firstmate right? Say hello to Marko! All of this is subject to change should you want changes or simply not want it but here is what I was thinking. Marko and Katsa could’ve been friends as kids and grown-up together, her even being one of the first women he slept with. When she set sail for Essos he did too because he was like secretly smitten with her, and maybe she knew but just never said shit. Anyway they had fun for a while but shortly before she left, maybe one of the reasons she , Marko literally died in some dramatic “I’LL SAVE EVERYONE” event. He came back to life shortly after and did his own thing, but she wouldn’t have known about it. He returned to Westeros a few years ago though in hopes of meeting her again and is currently the head outlaw in the Brotherhood Without Banners.
So yeah... Thoughts?

Katsa's memories of Marko Harlaw are vibrant and exciting. He was a warm spark in what otherwise would have been a rather dreary childhood. Her partner-in-crime. Her ever-present shadow as she entertained herself with toying and playing with those around them. He helped her in learning her way around a weapon when all others seemed unable to look past her skirts. She helped him learn about the female anatomy when their kin seemed content to only ridicule him. And, together, they helped each other leave those barren islands.
Marko loved her, this Katsa knew. Perhaps that was the only problem. There were many things about Marko that Katsa admired, indeed she trusted him more than she did her own siblings or parents, and the affection that he was capable of stirring up within her was genuine. Few others could claim the same. But even Marko could not hold her heart. No matter how much blood of their foes that they shed together. No matter the level of intimacy that they could share in one another's arms. No matter how dangerous and monstrous they both grew into being. Katsa was still the same girl that had murmured her daring escape from her bridal cage into his ear: brazen, shameless, unwilling to be bound to no-one and nothing.
She feared the moment that he would ruin everything. Katsa had expected the moment to arrive. What man could watch the woman he desired play her games with one man to the next without some form of acknowledgement that at some level she was his? And Kat couldn't bring herself to blind Marko with sweet lies and deceit as came naturally to her with all others. He would make his first and only demand from her and Katsa would tear his heart apart. Only, fate spun their destruction a little differently to that.
Katsa had gravelly upset Lorath's Fisher Prince in her games against the city. In retaliation, he had hired a sellsword company to put her and her crew down. It wasn't the first mercenary company that she and Marko had faced during their time in Essos, sadly, by the time that Kat realized that they were the most skilled, fortune had begun to turn against her. She had intended to fight them to the bitter end - death at sea was not a true death, not for an Ironborn. But Marko had decided otherwise. Forcing all the deadly attention onto him. Forcing Katsa away. Sacrificing himself.
Even now, two decades later, Katsa still is aggravated. She despises hero-types - Marko should not have played the hero. Idiot. Likely, that only made her homesickness worse. That endless fun that seemed abundant in the Free Cites was just ... gone. What point was there in her staying? So she returned home. She got married. Had children. And her days as the Cat have faded to stories and songs.
Still, there a times where a restlessness overcomes Katsa, and she can't resist leaving her seat in Dorne to become the pirate that she could never stop being. What better time than that for the Brotherhood Without Banners to find her?

Time to whore out my hot maester yo
Arthur is the maester to House Martell. He's a frustrated romantic. I'm sure these two need to go drinking. He serves Lord Ebon Martell, and he's interested in getting his hands bloody for the sake of serving House Martell. Talks about love, life - and fun, drinking alcohol, and having fun, while it seems fun and games, Arthur does want to support House Martell as a tool. Any political undertakings or plans that Kat or Ebon want to implement, Arthur is your best man. Underneath his romantic salt, Arthur's motivations lie with the Martells.
Rhetoric, romance, philosophy, I want to make these two good friends. Katsa needs to be the best girl friend Arthur has, or something like that. Arthur's sobriety, his tendency to philosophize things, and his political desires for House Martell, with Kat's playfulness, and her position, I see things happening.
Before we go politicking, we gotta have some fun too LOLOL
Arthur, Arthur, Arthur. So salty is he that he might as well be ironborn. Only he's more than a little enamored with his books.
Kat doesn't really understand the point of maesters. It wasn't as if she grew up with one in Pyke. The gist of her understanding is that they fit a joined role of teacher and servant, with a queer emphasis on the later. She finds it difficult to trust another's pride in eagerly flaunting their self-imposed chains. Or a man who promises absolute loyalty to a house and that alone. She doesn't trust Arthur, so of course she'll give off an impression that he does have her affection.
"Art" is the nickname that she has dubbed him with. And no-one should really expect for her to call him by anything else. If it seems like he has time to spare, Katsa will claim it. Likely with alcohol. Or sailing. Or music. Or even sparring. Katsa will want to know all about Arthur, due to his closeness to her family, and it's been her experience that it's easier to unearth another's secrets when they're under the impression that you're disinterested in them. Her tactic is to demand stories from him. Not lessons in philosophy, history or politics. But stories both personal and fictional - surely, all those books means that Art knows something about story-telling. And you can learn a lot about someone by how they approach a story.
Perhaps they could be friends. But, like with any of her friendships, it all depends on Arthur Marbrand's usefulness.
