Blyth Mormont was the 2nd born of House Mormont. She is only inferior to her elder brother by 2 years, but they are practically matched in strength. Blyth was born during a colds winter night on Bear Island. She had survived the cold and was born to be a bear warrior of House Mormont. She had always been a cold woman; she was raised to be a fighter, or it was in her bones. House Mormont women were different than other Westerosi woman in that they did fighting on equal grounds to the men on the island since they had to defend the island from wildling attacks. Blyth wouldn't be much of a lady; for one she was taller and bulkier than other woman and absolutely hated dresses. As a kid she always roughed around with boys on the island and her many siblings. She always cut her hair short, often being mistaken for a boy.

Her father who often visited Winterfell to visit the Starks brought his daughter along with him. Many of the Stark's daughters wondered about Blyth, but she tried to behave and even had to wear a dreaded dress just to impress the Starks. Despite her awkward boyish appearance she had bright blonde hair, unlike her siblings who all had light or dark brown hair. One would wonder if she was a Lannister, since they were known for their yellow hued locks but there was definitely blood of the bear running through her veins. She made frequent visits with her father to Winterfell, she enjoyed the trip however and getting off the island. Part of her wanted to roam the land.. to be free.

She often times travel by herself through the island, spending nights in the blistering cold. She enjoyed hunting and tracking. The men of Bear Island mostly did the hunting but she liked it. Spending most of the time out in the wilds and sometimes on the ice, Blyth had killed her own bear when she was only sixteen. She then made a cloak out of its fur and still dons it to this day. Her weapon of choice is usually a large sword, but she can beat a man good with her fists and is pretty good with an arrow. Blyth got in a fight with a guard one time at Winterfell when he said that despite her carrying a sword she probably couldn't beat him. However, she did beat him.. leaving a few scratches on him. However, one time she met a swordsman whom didn't think of her as lesser swordsman for being a woman but accepted her as an equal. The two spoke, becoming close... the man sparking something inside of Blyth. The man got the best of her, being interested in her for her unique beauty. It is not sure if the two slept together, but the man was going to leave without saying a word to her and that hurt her. He was from somewhere in Essos and was a strange man to say the least..mysterious. She didn't want him to leave and met him before he was to take off. Asking for a battle. He laughed. The two fought, Blyth losing to him. From that day she's always hated men, and became even more cold and distant from others.

Her eldest brother died in a wildling attack, Blyth becoming heir to House Mormont..meaning she had to attend more political affairs. Her father giving her their Houses valyarian steel sword, Longclaw. However, she lived a life of celibacy and didn't want to get married so being heir went to her younger sibling. Though, she would remain loyal to House Stark and defend it if need be, she has been known to fight for them. Blyth sought out swordsmanship and to test her abilities. She often entered into tournaments; but had a distaste for the South. It was much to warm for her wintered bones. She travels, having gone to Essos and across Westeros. She's been known to drink a lot and get into brawls. Many men know her as an equal though some still think of her as just a women from the North with a sword...
