The year is 286 AC. King Jaehaerys II has just passed, leaving the throne without a rightful ruler. While his three children fight for the crown, Winter creeps closer, and unimaginable darkness looms.
Not all alliances will be so typical this time. In fact, many people have a crucial effect on the way this story is told. As for the ending, we only hope there are enough people left alive to tell it after its passed.
Events
Join us for our first event, the wake of recently deceased King Jaehaerys II.
Updates
AUG. 19: So we are now officially open to the public. We have a mini-event flashback thread going on, and our main event just began. Feel free to make a second canon if you can keep both of them active enough.
Don't hesitate in pestering staff with questions; it's what we're here for! Let's raise a glass and make a cheer toward a successful launch of Winds of Winter.
“Hmm, I wish I could say the same thing, but I have already resigned myself to that particular fate. Once I am married, I will have to let that person into my life. I am not sure whether that is a sign of weakness or strength though. On one hand, it would mean having to endure someone like that. On the other, it means not fighting for something better. But I guess being the only daughter in my family makes my situation a little bit different, doesn’t it? Besides, that doesn’t mean I have to resign myself fully to it, now does it?” She still was not even referencing it, simply because she was no longer sure that girl felt the same way. Alayne had come on her strongly earlier, but that might have just been her perception of what had happened. Vanessa could not tell, so she treaded carefully.
Staring back at the other, she would make herself more comfortable. “One of these liberties would, of course, be making my own friends. And you seem like a great one to make, so I would be pleased to accept your offer. Even so, though, I would be interested in what else you had to offer. That always sounds interesting, you have to admit~.”

The offer of friendship was welcomed, warmly. Whatever Vanessa was looking for, Alayne could provide. In her mind, she thought of hard lines, edges and clauses, the ifs, the thens, the hows, and the examples. Circumvent. Twist. Plot. Manipulate. She was her father's daughter, after all. Now, the get-go had been clear from the beginning and Alayne realized that Vanessa was being cautious, playing on safe waters. So this one was trying to be careful, she inferred, analyzing the Arryn beneath her dark lenses.
"What can I offer you?" The rhetorical question now in the air, Alayne tapped her chin, feigning the impression of a far-thinking scholar. Not that she had yet to think. She could pull anything off, within her range of skills. "We both have much to learn and gain from one another, you know, darling."
And for that, she resisted the urge to kick herself for being smooth around the Arryn. She was not interested in the girl romantically. Politically and personally, more in the lines of friendship, even. Being smooth was just a push for appeal. Being smooth was to assert her own dominance. Her own credibility to bear some authority and degree of her self-assertion.
"I'll treat you to discussions that will simulate your mind. We can talk while we eat the best delicacies in the Seven Kingdoms. I can also guarantee your safety around me. I know how to use a bow and arrow. You can definitely trust me, Arryn." And so she had proven herself worthy. "I am disciplined, I am ambitious and I am earnest to do my duty. Is it not enough for you to trust me? Or do I have to prove it to you?"

“Oh, it is enough to do so. As I said, I just wanted to hear what you had to offer. It is always better to gain more than to gain less, isn’t it?” Vanessa smiled, but she found herself irritated all the while. The way that this person had gone and hit on her was in a contrast to these offers. She was like that in a way after all, and she would have at least alluded to things. And yet there were still these affectionate nicknames, although mayhap only she felt them like that. Still, it was rather cruel of her to do this if there wasn’t a flicker of interest. In the interest of bonding, she decided to simply be honest about it.
“And I was merely confused. When you first approached me, you seemed to imply more than just stimulating my mind. That obviously colours an engagement, don’t you think? You should be much more clear with these things and not use them lightly,” she replied, half chiding the girl. But why wouldn’t she? That was not the kind of thing she would joke about ever.

Half-scolding. That was the one Nessa was saying. Hmph. Well, she had to call Alayne out on being too forceful. Alayne didn't let her feathers be ruffled by any fuss that was unnecessary. This would have to be put in the necessary, either way. Well, could she explain or not? Why explain when she was the one who was calling the shots, anyway? It was extremely frustrating. Well.
"Don't nag me," purported the Baratheon, heady once more. A little more force, and the words were dipped in some friendly jest. "I'll keep that in mind, Vanessa. It's not always that I drop around these nicknames. You're easier to be around with, I'll give you that. I call my own shots, so no need to worry much. Don't fret your pretty head about it, and we can enjoy getting to know each other. I'm glad to make your acquaintance."
Yes. Get that out of the girl's mind. Alayne adjusted her position, bringing her fingers together. She put them in front of her face, exuding her natural command. "As I've said, don't worry about me."
