The year is 286 AC. King Jaehaerys II has just passed, leaving the throne without a rightful ruler. While his three children fight for the crown, Winter creeps closer, and unimaginable darkness looms.
Not all alliances will be so typical this time. In fact, many people have a crucial effect on the way this story is told. As for the ending, we only hope there are enough people left alive to tell it after its passed.

Nearly a fortnight at sea. The weather was fair, they didn't run into any storms, and wind favored them. What started as a trip from Kings Landing to Dragonstone, turned into a excursion farther south to the free city of Lys.
Sera awoke to the cawl of birds, the bay coming into view, and the colors of Lys spackled in the background. Orbs more blue that the water below them started in awestruck happiness, excited to set foot on land once again.
Immediately she turned tail back to the room where hopefully Ashe would be waiting, the girl knocking to make sure she could enter. "My Lady? We are preparing to enter the bay. I can see the city in on the Horizon!" she eagerly called through the door in a rather ill mannered fashion.
"Are you dressed and ready?" she inquired, her hand waiting to open the door to face the pale woman. In the length of time spent on the vessel, Sera had grown accustomed to the presence of Lady Tully, as well as their Ironborn escort, -- finally getting a taste for the ale they had on board.
Though her eagerness to see the city grew more immense each passing moment.
Birdsongs unlike any from home brought her back from her dreams as the dull call of the seabird pierced the heavy wood of the cabin. Sleep had come easy over the past few days, and strength enough to stand and wander returned to the young Lady's body.
Sera had left much earlier than her, off to see the city they retreated into. Barely a fortnight here at sea and the girl had already taken to the salty breeze. More and more she seemed less like the girl who followed them from King's Landing and more an adventurer with every knot passed. Dalton seems to have his work cut out for him.
Ashe moved to change out of her dress, small clothes hanging off her person. Moving to leave the room and join the younger woman at the deck, a small misstep sent Ashe reeling against the table side, holding herself in place as the world spun for a moment. She'd been on the ship for as long as Sera has, and other than the momentary lapses in strength, she hadn't felt so queesy before. She expected sea sickness to settle in sooner but not as the journey came to an end.
Her pallid hand snapped to her mouth as bile rose to tickle her tongue. Ashe looked around the room for a bucket, a basin, anything to empty the bitter liquid into and found one they'd used to clean the floors earlier. In swift steps, Ashe found herself at the edge of the container, and threw up.

Eager hands opened the door, releasing the latch as her eyes set upon a poor soul emptying her stomach into a wooden bucket nearby. An audible gasp left Sera's lips as she padded up to the woman, trying not to let Ashe's queasiness get to her own senses.
"Are you alright My Lady?" she inquired with a soft hand resting on her shoulder. She would wait until she was finished before reaching to place the back of her hand against Ashe's forehead. "Is it a fever?"
There could have been many things wrong with this woman at the time, her most recent demise leaving her nearly in a comatose state and brought aboard in the first place.
"Have you been sea sick this whole time?" she continued to question, hopefully getting some answer from the pale woman.
If they needed medicine, perhaps fate, and luck, was on their side, as they would anchor into the bay not long after.
Bile tinted her tongue in bitter flavours, urging her to empty more of her stomach. A moment's reprieve gave her a chance to answer the Baratheon but not after a fight to regain her voice.
"N-no. I'm fine... I... I guess I finally felt the sickness after a few days on this ship." She turned her head to the worried fawn, fingers grasping the bucket tightly. She'd have loved to see their approach into the new city with Sera by her side but it wasn't happening.
"I'm sorry Sera. I might have to rest a little longer.

A concerned expression decorated the face of the young Baratheon, eyes unwavering as they glanced down at the poor woman.
"Please do not apologize."
She said with a soft shake of her head. If needed she offered an arm to the woman, wanting to escort her back to the bed. A more than pale appearance worried the girl, and she inhaled slowly.
"I do think you need to see a maester. Perhaps I can bring one to you?"
If she could not take the woman to the healer, she would bring one to her. Hopefully they would be okay with tending to someone aboard. Unless Dalton had another idea.
"Let me at least fetch you some water and some rags," she said before holding the woman's hand in her own.
She was thankful for the woman's presence, another fair rose amongst the company of sea dogs- though this rose was starting to show some of her coveted thorns- or antlers if you'd like to go by that analogy.
"That would be much appreciated. If... at all possible. I don't mind disembarking the ship to find one if needed." Ashe had felt sick since the day before the wake- since the day she met Quellon, and it only got worse as time went on. Though it changed from a raging migraine to a nauseous feeling that came and went and suddenly hit her full force.
"Thank you Sera... I'm sorry for inconveniencing you like this. But... I'm genuinely thankful that you're here." She gave the younger girl a smile as she sat on the bed with the stag's help, holding her head with one hand. What she'd do to wash out the taste in her mouth.

A smile was all the girl could give in response before disappearing out of the room and down to the cupboard to gather a basin, a few mangled rags, and at last a cup. There was a barrel of safe water just outside of the room, and that was her last stop before reemerging into the room. "Your gratuity is the reason I was so adamant on coming with you in the first place. I mean, I wanted to be here for you, in case something happened, despite not owing you anything."
Setting the basin of water on the table nearby, she handed the horn of water to her gently, holding it still to make sure she grasped it. "Sip slowly," she said before turning to the basin and rinsing a rag to run across the woman's forehead. Daily she had tended to the girl when she laid unconscious on the same bed. Even now when she was awake, the stag wanted to care for her diligently. "When you gain some strength, I will have Dalton take us into the docks and we can find you some help."
"I still think it foolish of you to come here when you have absolutely no business doing so. What exactly were you even hoping to achieve trying to help two people you've literally just met?" Ashe shook her head, bringing a palm to her face. "And I thought I was the fool for acting on an impulse..." There was not much to do at this point but to face what comes next. All she hoped for now was that Sera at least could go home safely.
Ashe watched the girl work, laying the basin by the table and taking the water in her hands, thanking the girl once more before bringing the horn to her lips, tasting the clear liquid. The bitter sting of bile diluted in it's flow, it was a welcome refreshment. "Alright. But before any of that, why don't you enjoy the sights outside whilst you can? I won't be going anywhere so you don't worry your little head."

A question that she was asked repeatedly since the three of them left. It was true, the Greyjoy and Tully were nothing more than strangers come the time she stepped up to them a week past. Since then, she had grown to know the two of them more, but despite that, she was still originally unwelcomed.
Lips folded into a grimace, eyes gazing into her's as she stepped back to give the woman some space.
"Maybe I wasn't hoping to achieve anything My Lady. Not everyone does good deeds outside of being indebted. I did it because I wanted to do it. Because I wouldn't have been able to sleep well at night not knowing if you would have been safe, not while knowing I could have done something."
Arms crossed underneath her chest, "I will be waiting outside on the deck for you. Take your time to feel better, and if you need anything, I will hear you."
Stepping outside of the room, she closed the door and sighed heavily. What could she expect? This was a world where no one did anything without promise of some kind of payment. Chivalry and honor was truly a dying thought.
Ashe watched the young woman step out of the room, leaving her little chance to speak. Ashe's intentions had lay elsewhere, far from where the young stag thought it be. Since that day at the wake, the white wolf worried for the safety of the younger lady, and the fuss that could ensue had more of them gone. Vivaenne had luckily been spared the trouble but her, not so much. And with every day spent together- or as much as Ashe could keep her eyes awake and speak with the only other woman on the ship, it became more apparent to her that maybe the young girl had acted more out of ignorance.
Ignorance? Maybe innocent?
Someone far too noble to walk on this forsaken earth.
With little more to do, the pale wolf stretched herself across the bed, and cast herself into the abyss.
Seagulls raced across the skies, their calls a melody to the human cries. Men and women, young and old. Merchant and consumers all gathered to fill the chorus of this bustling city. After days sailing across the salty seas, the unlikely trio have arrived at the city of Lys.

One on one had worked well so far. Both the Tully and the Baratheon had given nice little conversations when he had met them between his own duties as captain of this vessel. However, he had mostly left the two of them alone in the cabin ever since the Tully work, simply because she seemed to disapprove of him getting too close to the other lady. It was not completely unjustified, either. The redhead was hard to resist, especially when restricted to a ship such as this. Plus, she seemed to be quite into him as well, which made things ever harder.
Thus, a little distance was good. Especially now that she had someone relatable to talk to. Granted, he had no real clue as to what women talked about when they were alone. But he was sure that it could not be bad. Hence, he had noteven dreamed of listening in, instead being content to just man the steering wheel for a bit. It did not last too long, however, at least for today. Soon enough, they actually closed in on their destination, and he decided to leave the wheel to the one in charge, as he made his way back into the bowels of the ship. Most likely, both of the girls would want to actually experience landfall, given that they had never been on a ship in such a way before.
That was the prime reason as to why he knocked on the door to his own cabin. He did not need their invitation – it was his place after all – but he wanted to give them a few seconds warning to get ready and presentable. Highborn women liked that, usually. Then, he would enter. “Ashe. Sera. I think you would like to see our destination. I figure neither of you have seen a port like this, after all.”

Words that portrayed more animosity than intended, and guilt that gripped at the young heart. Sera paced the length of the deck, her mind muddied with the need to apologize for her ill behavior, as it was very unlike her to say things in such an unrefined manner. She realized the amount of trouble she caused by sticking her nose in unrelated business, and that spoke for the amount of effort she gave to try and make up for it. The idea of her being on the ship alone with Dalton, if she had still fallen ill and passed out. Would she had received the same treatment and cared for diligently?
There were the thoughts that allowed her to feel some amount of justification in her intrusion on their conversation on that day nearly a fortnight ago.
Sera let out a soft sigh before heading into the depths of the ship once more. Her hand grasping at the handle before pushing it open softly. She had hoped that Ashe would still be awake, or at least in a decent position to be woken up. How much had passed since she had left prior? Was it enough for her to get some rest?
Either way, it wouldn't be until she gazed upon the rufos orbs of Ashe that she gave her pathetic apology.
"My 'pologies My Lady. I did not mean to be so front with you earlier, and I realize I may have spoken ill. I know that my presence makes you nervous, and you worry about my safety, as I do with your's. But lets come to recognize that it's too late to fret about things of the past and instead see that we both make it home, after retrieving your property that is."
There, that should have been well said enough. Right?
Echoes caught her attention and she turned, the opening of the door revealing their host standing within its frame. That's right, they were in the bay, and had a city to see. Sera turned to glance at the Lady, "Are you feeling well enough to accompany us?" she asked, hoping that whatever nausea she had, had passed without any problems.
"I have not seen any port other than King's Landing. So I am quite excited to see the foreign land and customs," she said moving to head out the door.
Footsteps roused the resting lady, urging her to turn towards the door. The familiar frame was reason enough for Ashe to try and sit up to greet the worried Sera as she spoke. Air filled the lady's lungs as she released it all in a sigh. There was no need for Sera to apologize. If anything Ashe felt she'd need to herself, seeing as how she'd made the other feel. Though she didn't really feel like budging on her sentiment.
Without the right words to say, Ashe only responded to Sera with a kind smile and a shake of her head, hoping to convey that no harm was done with her words earlier. And as things were as they are... they'd just have to make the most of it now.
"I think I'll be staying put while you two enjoy the sight. I still feel somewhat queesy after earlier. I do apologize that I can't share the moment with you two." Not that she'd expect them to miss her company.

Dalton raised an eyebrow. For someone who had spoken so passionately about adventures once, the lady Tully was certainly content to sit this one out. Ever since she had gotten on board, the lady had appeared somewhat anaemic and weak. The Greyjoy had hoped that it would get better. While it had, in some regards, it still seemed to be far from good. They really had to find a maester of sorts. Fortunately, this was the right city for rest and recreation. That was why he had come here the first time, and it had been the reason for his returns ever since.
“There is no need to apologize. But you will come with us later. Just rest a little longer and gather your strength. There is a busy day ahead of us.” He showed no mercy to her. As she would tell him to, anyway. After all, the lady wanted to become stronger as well, not just a passenger but a partner. It would be necessary. However, there was no need to rush. He offered his arm to the other lady. Maybe it was not the most Ironborn thing to do, but screw that. He wanted to have her walk on deck akin to his lady, so she would. Well, if she wanted to. “My lady, if you would come with me, then?” Also not very Ironborn. But, again, he just felt like it.

Lips pursed slightly in her disappointment of Ashe's inability to join her. The young Baratheon was so eager, and excited to see the sights of the foreign economic makeup of Essos, but disheartened to know that her new acquaintance would not be joining the two of them.
"Alright then," she said softly, her hand brushing to gently caress the woman's shoulder in reassurance, "I will come back with news of a Maester. In the meantime, get some rest. " Stepping back, Sera's gaze met Dalton's, his offered arm coming as quite the surprise. Normally he would just walk ahead of her, carving a path for her to follow easily, however compared to this, she felt more his equal by walking next to him.
After a moment's hesitation, she looped her hand around his forearm, holding onto him softly so he could set a pace. She smiled gently, enjoying the custom that was traditional back in the Stormlands. "What can you tell me about the city of Lys?" she asked curiously, hoping to hear some about the features that a tourist like herself would enjoy.
